Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting as reporter for WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later worked as morning news anchor and the crime reporter at WCBD TV. O'Dell's articles in Charleston, about how the Charleston police acted in DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict directive for state authorities. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the year Award for every aspect of South Carolina media. Following her work in Charleston O'Dell worked as a anchor, co-anchor, and investigative reporter for the NBC Miami station WTVJ-TV before joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor and a weekday reporter. Alongside her job as the lead anchor for Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell also contributes to NBC News' Today and as well to Dateline NBC. She's reported on events such including The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as well as co-hosting a number of Pre-ShowArrivals shows in preparation for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. Her other co-hosting credits include the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
